COLUMBIA -- Police are looking for a purse snatcher after a female was robbed at Columbia's Bethel Park around 10:00 p.m. Saturday.

The female victim told police that she was going to meet a male friend at the park when her bicycle got a flat tire forcing her to walk.

The victim’s male friend told police he heard the woman screaming and saw her struggling with her attacker who then stole her purse.

The male friend went to help her when the attacker cut his forearm and his side with a sharp object during the confrontation; however, he was no seriously hurt. The male victim is not sure if the weapon was a knife.

The suspect ran away after the altercation.

Investigators are looking for a black male, about six feet tall with a muscular build and dark clothing.

Police suspect all three people involved with this crime were acquaintances and robbery was not the only motive in the case.
