JEFFERSON CITY -- A primary election is under way in Jefferson City for first ward voters.

James Branch, Kolbi Ward and Chris Holsman are running for the City Council seat currently held by Bob Weber. Weber is term limited and can not run again.

If each of the top two candidates get less than 50% of the vote, they both will move on to the April election.

If the top candidate receives 50% or more of the total votes, that person will become the new councilman for the first ward in Jefferson City.
