Flames shoot through roof of Boone County house

No one was there when the fire started that would destroy the home.

A caller reported flames shooting through the roof, adding that the house on Route J near Harrisburg was fully engulfed. The fire began just after 11:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Thirty to forty minutes after arriving on the scene, responders had the fire under control. Crews were still at the scene as of 2:40 p.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
