Police mum about body found in Moberly field

Police wouldn't say whether they were conducting a death or homicide investigation.

Officers found the body in a field behind Lee’s Lawn Care near the intersection of Highway M and Morley Street in South Moberly.

Moberly police found the body of a white man in a field at about 10:36 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities haven't said much about their investigation.

Officers found the body lying near some farm equipment in a field behind Lee’s Lawn Care near the intersection of Highway M and Morley Street in South Moberly.

Randolph County Coroner Gerald Lunsford said the man was in his 40s and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

No one from the Moberly Police Department would comment on camera. They did provide a written statement saying the identity of the subject is not being released at this time.

Police would not say whether they were conducting a death or homicide investigation.
