A Facebook campaign to support the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri is a success.

Joe Machens Toyota presented a 2013 Sienna Van to food bank officials as part of Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program.

The give away is a national contest that provides 100 cars to 100 nonprofit organizations over the course of 100 days.

Local food bank supporters cast enough votes on Facebook to win the van which will collect and deliver food to needy families and individuals.

Food Bank Director Peggy Kirkpatrick said, “This is awesome.  We were able to choose the Toyota of our choice.  They gave us five different choices.  Our staff said we want the one that can hold the most barrels.”

The Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri distributes food to nearly 100,000 people every month in 32 counties through food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.
