High speed chase leads to wreck and meth bust

22-year-old Kasey Nelson was charged with excessive speeding and possession of more than one controlled substance.

The two led police on a 40-mile chase through Callaway County.

CALLAWAY CO. -- At approximately 1:07 a.m. today, a deputy with the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a blue Chevrolet Camaro for a traffic violation on County Road 4012 outside of Holts Summit.

The vehicle failed to yield and a deputy pursued the vehicle for over 40 miles through the towns of Tebbets, Mokane, Steedman, and Portland at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.

As the vehicle neared the intersection of Old Highway 40 and State Road A, it wrecked at which point both occupants were taken into custody.

 

The driver was identified as Kasey Nelson and the passenger was identified as Cody Glore. Nelson was found to be in possession of two different types of felony controlled substance and a needle used to inject methamphetamine.

 

Glore was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and in possession of a needle used to inject methamphetamine.


Nelson is being held on a bond of $20,000 and Glore is being held on a bond of $9000.
 

The Fulton Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in the pursuit.
