There was a car and foot chase, plus a brief struggle, before she was taken into custody
Swedeborg, Mo. - A woman led a Pulaski County deputy on a brief car chase before attempting to run and hide in a home. The deputy pursued, and a short struggle ensued before 34-year-old Cissy Inman was taken into custody.
On Wednesday, the deputy went to an address on Altus Road to take a report about a stolen vehicle, then began to patrol the area. At about 8:45 p.m., he spotted the stolen vehicle and tried to stop the driver.
The resulting car chase lasted about three blocks before Inman abandoned the vehicle to run into a house.
While running, she threw her purse into a room of the home. The purse was found and contained controlled substances. A follow-up investigation also linked Inman to a few cases of stealing.
Inman was taken to the Pulaski County Jail on a 24-hour hold while a statement of probable cause was sent to the Pulaski County Prosecutor.
The prosecutor filed the following charges over this incident; tampering with a motor vehicle, two counts of drug possession, one count of receiving stolen property, and one count of stealing. Total bond was set at $52,000.
Inman remains in the Pulaski County Jail pending the posting of bond.
