COLUMBIA -- Columbia Police arrested a teen after a strong arm robbery at a convenience store in Columbia.

Police said at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday Joseph P. Largent, 18, walked into the Petromart Convenience Store at 5612 St. Charles Rd. and demanded money from the clerk.

That’s when they said he threatened to hurt the female clerk if she didn’t give him the money and then left with an undisclosed amount of money towards I-70.

With the help of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Largent, was detained a short distance from the store.

When he was found, police said Largent had the money matching the description taken from the store.

Largent was arrested for 2nd degree robbery.
