There are 93 workshop corporations located around the state of Missouri. These shops provide employment for around 7500 people with disabilities and over 900 non-disabled staff.

Missouri sheltered workshops are different than workshops in other states because they depend heavily on contracted work and revenue from that work to remain in operation.

The workshop responds to customer needs relating to quailty and turn-around time.

From packaging, counting, crafting, wood cutting and gardening the employees are working hard.

Workshop employees are paid based on their ability to perform.

Workshops like Lake Area Industries provide employment, inspiration and also put money back into the community.

The industries doors are open to the public and they offer tours if anyone has curiosities about the workshop. The gifted garden is also open for plants browsing and shopping.
