Two Howard County men are in jail Wednesday after reports of a shooting Tuesday night.

Howard County’s Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 302 East Elm Street in Armstrong for reports of a person who had been shot.

A juvenile witness told deputies 25-year-old Matt Campbell was arguing with William Cash, when Campbell shot him in the stomach and neck.

Matt Cambell was taken into custody. Formal charges are pending. Deputies also arrested Matt’s father, Orvel Campbell, for hindering prosecution.

When deputies found Cash; they determined he had not been shot, but was injured when the gun discharged. He got medical treatment on his own.
