Columbia city leaders and dignitaries hosted a grand re-opening of a newly remodeled fire station.

Fire Station 3 sits on the southeast side of the University of Missouri campus.

The university-owned building was built in 1966 by the University of Missouri to house the Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute.

Building renovations, which began in November 2011, were finished in May 2012.

Fire Station 3 serves the Mizzou campus as well as nearby neighborhoods and portions of Highway 63.
