The lack of rain, high temperatures and strong winds have prompted several communities to post burn bans.

A burn ban has been issued for Phelps County, Maries County, Miller County, Phelps County and Pulaski County. Burn bans have also been issues for the city of Columbia and Mexico.

No open burning will be allowed until there is a significant rainfall.

Contact your local fire protection district about the rules in your area.
