Wounded JC soldier represents charity in NYC

A Jefferson City native was on Wall Street Wednesday night. Flanked by his family, wounded soldier Kevin Walker rang the closing bell at the NASDAQ exchange.

A Jefferson City native was on Wall Street Wednesday night. Flanked by his family, wounded soldier Kevin Walker rang the closing bell at the NASDAQ exchange.

He was there representing the national nonprofit group "Hope for the Warriors" which supports wounded service members and their families. He was there representing the national nonprofit group "Hope for the Warriors" which supports wounded service members and their families.

Walker went on two tours in Iraq and was severely wounded when his humvee hit a roadside bomb.

Walker lost his left eye, his sense of smell, and had severe head wounds. He retired from the Army just a couple months ago.

While in New York City Walker will also tour Ground Zero.

Walker graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1987.
