While on the campaign trail, Missouri senator Claire McCaskill visted Columbia Saturday afternoon to talk with several of her supporters.
She spoke to them about a several of her key running points, including the state and federal economies, improving GI bill payout for veterans, and one of the most controversial in recent days, women's health issues.
In addressing Todd Akin's comments from this past Sunday, she says that even though she may have the lead in the polls right now, she still feels like an underdog.
"I will always feel that way in Missouri,” McCaskill said. “I know this state, and I know that this race will be hard fought, and I predict that this race will be close."
McCaskill has not announced her next campaign stop yet, but she will be touring more of the state on Monday talking about the future of several local post offices.
