Police investigate Columbia convenience store robbery

COLUMBIA -- A convenience store in Columbia was robbed at early Wednesday morning.

It happened just after 1:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Petro Mart Convenience Store at 500 N. College Avenue.

Police said they believe a man walked into the store, implied he had a gun and demanded money from the clerk.

After he was given an unknown money, he left the store on foot.

Police described the robber as a black man, 5’7” to 5’8”, approximately 155 pounds, last seen wearing dark clothing.

If anyone has any information in reference to this armed robbery please contact the Columbia Police Department or Crimestoppers at 875-TIPS.
