May is foster parent awareness month, today was a day of relaxation for some of those parents.The Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association is the only resource in Central Missouri that provides foster family support.

Lana Kelly is a foster parent and told us, "I think its awesome you know... we come into this foster parenting program and we think that we are going to teach the kids so much and in turn they turn around and teach us so much."
Lana's foster son Shawn was granted a wish to take therapeutic riding lessons by a non-profit organization called one simple wish during the appreciation day. The group stopped in Jefferson city during their 4000 mile journey across the u-s in support of foster children. One simple wish will be visiting 30 cities in 30 days granting 30 wishes.
