COLUMBIA, Mo. -- A flue fire did extensive damage to one house tonight in Columbia.

A fire was reported just before four this afternoon at the 4600 block of Copperstone Court.

Crews arrived to a significant amount of smoke coming out the chimney.

W
when they went inside the home, they found fire inside one of the walls, which quickly spread to the outside of the wall and eventually to the roof before fire crews could attack it.

"Crews did an aggressive interior fire attack, and were able to get into the attic and stop the progression of the fire, fairly quickly,” said Brad Fraizer, Batallion chief at Columbia Fire Department “They are doing a pretty extensive overhaul right now, trying to make sure there's no additional hot spots or burning embers."

There were reportedly two adults inside of the house at the time of the fire, and both are reported to be unhurt.
