Marshall Police investigate homicide

MARSHALL -- Updated: December 28 at 1:15 p.m.

Terry Thompson is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in the stabbing death of 32-year-old Rebecca Fisher.

Thompson, 45, is scheduled to be arraigned in Saline County on Wednesday, January 2.

The Marshall Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday night.

At about 10:45 p.m. police were dispatched to a home on Birchwood Circle in response to a call about a woman suffering from lacerations.

When emergency crews arrived they found 32-year-old Rebecca Fisher lying on her front porch with stab wounds.

She was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital but was pronounced dead around 11-30 that night.

Police are searching for Terry Thompson, who they have named a person of interest.

Thompson is 45-years-old, 5 foot 11 and 180 pounds.
