COLE COUNTY --
Two Jefferson City men have been charged in connection to a recent shooting and a fight on Collier Court.
Elonzo Johnson was charged with armed criminal action and first degree assault, while Jordan Sayles was charged with burglary and third degree assault.
Police said a fight over a female broke out between Johnson and Jamal Sayles late Thursday afternoon.
After the physical fight, court documents indicate Johnson fired two shots at Jamal, one of which hit him in the stomach.
Police later found a stash of guns at a nearby vacant apartment and matching ammunition in Johnson's car.
Later Thursday evening, a fight broke out that was related to the shooting. A woman living on Collier says Jordan Sayles, the brother of the man who was shot, came to her house and assaulted her nephew.
Both Johnson and Jordan are in the Cole County jail. No word on Jamal's condition.
