New president named for MACC

Dr. Jeffrey Lashley was unanimously voted to become the next president of Moberly Area Community College.

The next president of Moberly Area Community College was announced Tuesday by the Board of Trustees.

The votes were unanimous for Dr. Jeffrey Lashley, who has served as vice president for instruction and as dean of academic affairs for a total of ten years. Before that, he spent six years as a full-time faculty member.

Dr. Lashley attended MACC before transferring to Truman State University, where he earned master's and bachelor's degrees. He completed his Ph.D. at Iowa State University.

Current MACC president, Dr. Evelyn Jorgenson, has held the position since 1996. Dr. Lashley will take over on July 1, 2013.
