LAKE OZARK, MO -- Lake of the Ozarks property owners have a chance to speak directly with Ameren Missouri officials Tuesday night about changes to its shoreline management plan.
The issue all started with a ruling from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, or FERC. FERC said any structures built too close to the lake had to go because they encroached on Ameren’s land.
The ruling triggered panic with Lake of the Ozarks residents and property owners, but soon after the ruling FERC revised its plan.
In November, it ordered Ameren to redraw its territory around the lake so that most homes are no longer considered to be in the way of its hydroelectric plant boundaries. Ameren has until June of this year to do so.
Tuesday night residents and property owners can voice their concerns and ask questions about Ameren’s plan at a public meeting. The two-hour meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the Inn at Grand Glaize on Highway 54 in Osage Beach.
