Route 240 in Fayette was reopened to two-way traffic Friday.

The roadway had been closed between Davis and Morrison streets since Tuesday, after a roof and partial building collapse spilled debris onto it.

The Missouri Department of Transportation said in a news release, "Motorists should still use caution in the area as a lane shift and a temporary stop sign will remain in place until the demolition work is complete."

The area remained closed while crews demolished the second story of the building at 114/116 Church Street.
