Low-income seniors in Boone County can sign up to be paired with a volunteer who will remove snow.

The Boone County Council on Aging offers the service for seniors and persons with disabilities, with an income of less than $1,400 a month.

The council said in a news release that " Agencies that deliver service at the home like home health, meal delivery, pharmacy delivery or other deliveries are finding it difficult to get to the seniors." The large amount of snow also means some cannot get out of their homes for necessities like groceries and doctors' appointments.

Call 573-443-1111 extension 20 to sign up. Those interested in volunteering can also call 573-443-1111.
