JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- A shoplifter was arrested and found with drugs in his car.

On Tuesday, Jefferson City police were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Super Center on the east end of town for a report of a shoplifter fleeing the store.

The canine, called Buzz, was able to find the suspect, 46-year-old Kevin Hiatte, hiding in the nearby woods.

Buzz alerted officers to drugs in Hiatte's car. Officers found meth, needles, spoons, a digital scale, baggies and a bottle containing pills.

Hiatte was arrested for shoplifting and possession of meth with the intent to distribute.
