A local trucking company is responsible for delivering some of the barricades for President Obama’s second inauguration this Monday.

Sky Martin owns Martin Rider, LLC at the Midway Truck Stop, which is located just west of Columbia.

Federal authorities chose Martin to ship several traffic barricades to Washington D.C. for the national event. The barriers will help protect Obama during his speech on Monday.

The hydraulic barricades are traveling from a Palm Beach, California, rental company to the nation’s capital.

“Over the years with my experience and the connections that I have made from the industry of manufacturers and customers of mine, this is just one of the connections that I have of hauling loads from Palm Beach, California, to Washington D.C.," Martin said.

The presidential barriers are scheduled to leave the Midway Truck Stop tomorrow and arrive in Washington D.C. Friday.

Martin Rider, LLC truck drivers will reload the barriers Monday and return them to California by Thursday of next week.
