Columbia Police Investigating Robbery

The Columbia Police Department is searching for a suspect in a robbery last night.

Officers were dispatched to 2806 Rollins Road around 9:45 p.m.

The 67-year-old victim said she was getting out of her vehicle when a man approached her from behind and demanded her purse.

The suspect fled on foot with the purse.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit unsuccessfully attemped to track the suspect's scent.

The woman was not injured during the robbery and the suspect did not display a weapon.

There is no suspect information and the investigation is ongoing.
