JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- A 26-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in prison for the October 6, 2011, robbery and shooting of a man on Lafayette Street.

Demetrius Boyce was found guilty in Cole County after a two-day jury trial in July.

He was found guilty of first degree robbery, first degree assault and armed criminal action. The judge sentenced Boyce to 30 years for the first count, 15 years for the second and 10 years for the last count. The sentences for each count are to run concurrently.

Boyce must serve at least 85 percent of the robbery and armed criminal action sentences before becoming eligible for parole, according to state law.
