(AP) -- SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- A southwest Missouri man was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for three bank robberies.

Fifty-three-year-old Michael D. Manis was sentenced Wednesday in federal court to 15 years and eight months without parole for robberies in Joplin, Webb City and Springfield. He pleaded guilty in May to three counts of bank robbery. He was also ordered to pay $16,000 in restitution.

Manis robbed the US Bank in Webb City on Feb. 14, the Great Southern Bank in Springfield on Feb. 24 and the Great Southern Bank in Joplin on March 14.

Police arrested Manis in March based on DNA evidence from the Joplin robbery.
