COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Pro-life supporters were a-buzz tonight in Columbia as a famous talk show host and conservative activist came to town.

Fox News talk show host Mike Huckabee was at the Father Tolton Catholic High School as the keynote speaker for the Vitae (vee-tay) mission's event there tonight.

The event focused Vitae's goal to provide unexpectedly pregnant women with alternatives to abortion and they say Huckabee was just the man to represent them.

"He really gets it,” said Vitae president Carl Landwehr. “He understands that life is one of those really precious gifts that we really have to honor and respect, and the best way to do that is to help young women, when they find themselves in a troubled pregnancy, to find an alternative"

There were approximately 300 people that showed up as guests to the event.
