A 31 year Salvation Army tradition welcomes all motorcyclists to the Annual Columbia Toy Run this Saturday.

The event features Santa Claus riding with members of the Boone County Wings Motorcycle Chapter W.

Santa’s helpers will accept toy donations at Columbia’s Grindstone Wal-Mart Supercenter.

All of the donations to the Salvation Army help local families.

Volunteers will transport donated toys to the Salvation Army’s headquarters during a motorcycle parade.

Salvation Army Major Beth Trimmell said, “There will be a truck there and people will be donating toys for our toy shop.  We really hope a lot of people come and enjoy the fun and bring lots of toys because those go into our toy shop and will help children have a terrific Christmas.”

The Salvation Army’s Annual Columbia Toy Run takes place this Saturday at the Grindstone Wal-Mart Supercenter between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The motorcycle parade begins at 2:00 p.m.

After the parade, the public is invited to a chili supper at the Salvation Army’s headquarters at 1108 Ash Street.
