Police recover stolen car, arrest three people

Three people in a stolen vehicle were arrested in Jefferson City after a traffic stop.

An officer stopped the 1995 green Oldsmobile late Sunday night for an equipment violation.

The driver, 32-year-old Shawn Moore of Jefferson City, was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree and driving with a revoked license. The two passengers, 19-year-old Macie Jenkins and 21-year-old Brantley Carroll of Camdenton, were arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle in the second degree. Carroll was also arrested for forgery and for a burglary parole warrant.

The Oldsmobile had been stolen from the Springfield area.

All three people are in the Cole County jail awaiting charges.
