(AP) -- SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- A southwest Missouri accountant is going to prison for stealing nearly $480,000 from a kitchen design and remodeling company where she worked as the office manager.

The U.S. Attorney's office says 54-year-old Carla Jean Wilson, of Ash Grove, was sentenced Wednesday to three years and one month in federal prison. Wilson was also ordered to pay $611,000 in restitution.

Wilson worked at Kitchenland USA in Nixa from 2004 until she was fired in September 2010.

She pleaded guilty in April to embezzling from the company for nearly four years beginning in January 2007, using signed checks from the company's accounts and making them payable to herself.

Wilson also pleaded guilty to failing to report about $224,000 of the embezzled money on her federal tax return for 2009.
