Columbia police arrested a man for his involvement in the robbery of the Boone County National Bank last Friday.

A witness at the robbery told authorities the thief left in a silver Chevy Blazer and provided the license plate number. Investigators found the vehicle's owner, who had loaned it to a friend. That friend then told officials the Blazer had been loaned to Alvin Watkins.

Police arrested Watkins on Thursday evening without incident. He is charged with robbery in the second degree with a $50,000 bond.

There is no information at this time about a second man involved in the robbery.
