Boone County authorities continue to search for a man who shot three people and assaulted another victim early Saturday morning.

Investigators are looking for Christopher Dwayne Brown, 27, and they believe Brown is armed and dangerous.

Boone County deputies found a man, 24, and a woman, 22, with life-threatening gunshot wounds when they arrived in the 5900 block of Gregory Drive just north of the Boone County Fairgrounds.

The man, 21, told authorities brown assaulted him during the disturbance.

A short time later, Columbia police officers found a man, 27, in a parked vehicle on Lawnridge Court with gunshot wounds.

Investigators said Brown is responsible for all the attacks.

Boone County Sheriff’s Detective Tom O’Sullivan said, “We still have a number of officers pursuing Mr. Brown.  We’ve been contacting his associates, friends and family members in an attempt to determine his whereabouts.  We’re urging him to turn himself in before anybody else gets hurt.”

Investigators said Brown has ties to the Kansas City area.

O’Sullivan said, “I cannot say conclusively that he has left the area, but that is certainly a possibility.  He is known to have family, friends and associates in the Kansas City area as well as Central Missouri.”

O’Sullivan said additional suspects could be involved with the assault of the man, 21.

Investigators said the likely motive behind the attacks was retaliation for a relationship gone wrong.
