Update, September 27 @ 11:35 a.m.:

Jerry Vanderpool, 40, was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia at the scene of a search warrant.

Original:

Boone County authorities busted a meth lab at 7405 North Highway VV Wednesday morning.

The SWAT team found processed methamphetamine and two firearms at the residence, which is in the Hinton area.

While serving the search warrant, a dog was shot after biting a deputy in the thigh. The injured animal was turned over to Animal Control for treatment.

Several other dogs, all pit bulls like the injured animal, were at the scene. Animal Control had recently issued aggressive dog citations to the owner.

The investigation is on-going. The search warrant was partially the result of citizen complaints regarding suspicious behavior at the residence.
