(AP) -- ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The home foreclosure rate in St. Louis is on the decline.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the most recent figures from the real estate analysis firm CoreLogic, for July, show 1.55 percent of St. Louis-area homes are in the process of foreclosure.

The percentage has declined three straight months and is the lowest figure since August 2010. The St. Louis foreclosure rate is less than half the national average.

CoreLogic says the mortgage delinquency rate in St. Louis has declined steadily since January. July figures show 4.51 percent of metro St. Louis homes at least 90 days behind in payments, down from 5.02 percent at the start of the year.
