The Missouri Football Tigers take on the South Carolina Gamecocks this Saturday on KRCG 13.

This game has produced a new tradition in the SEC.

Since both teams come from a city named Columbia, the mayors have decided to put up a friendly wager for a new Columbia Cup.

No one has seen the cup, yet.

It’s expected to make its debut before the game on CBS Sports.

The challenge by Columbia mayor Bob McDavid will also appear on the pregame show.

McDavid said, “Should the University of South Carolina win, I’m personally going to feed your gamecock for one full week.  I understand it almost eats two pounds of food a week.  I don’t know how you are going to reciprocate, though.  A tiger eats 35 pounds of red meat a day.”

Mayor McDavid said he has the perfect place for the new Columbia Cup in his office and hopes the cup never makes it to South Carolina.
