Shots fired at Boone County Home

Sunday afternoon about 3:00, Deputies with the Boone County Sheriff's

Department were dispatched to a shots fired complaint in the 8200 block of

Sugar Creek Drive. Deputies learned that a resident, who has had trespass

problems on her property, could hear gunshots near her residence. The resident

armed herself and exited her house to inspect her property. Upon inspection,

the resident located a person crossing a fence and trespassing on her property.

The resident issued a verbal challenge to the person and advised him that he

was trespassing. The person raised a firearm and fired a shot at the resident.

The subject was described as a white male approximately in his 40's with a couple days beard

growth. The male was wearing a black baseball cap, a "dingy" white sleeveless shirt, and

black cargo pants.


The resident was not hit by gunfire, but she sustained a minor injury while retreating to her

residence. She refused medical attention on the scene. The male subject has no known injuries

at this time.
