A Columbia woman pleaded guilty earlier this week to charges stemming from a crash a year ago.

Elizabeth Klaus pleaded guilty to 2nd degree assault for driving a vehicle while intoxicated and child endangerment.

Klaus drove her vehicle off route E in Boone County on August 8th last year.

Her five-year-old son was not wearing a seat-belt and the crash impact threw him from the car, causing serious injuries.

According to the probable cause statement, Klaus was combative at the scene she hit one firefighter and kicked another.

Klaus does have two previous DWI convictions.
