Columbia, Mo. - University of Missouri Men’s Basketball Coach Frank Haith has donated $10,000 to Boys and Girls Club of Columbia.

The funds are earmarked for the organization’s annual campaign for operational support, and the capital campaign for the new youth center which will open on September 4, 2012. Coach Haith has also agreed to be the local spokesperson for Boys and Girls Club of Columbia, along with University of Missouri Women’s Basketball coach Robin Pingeton.

Boys and Girls Club of Columbia’s executive director Valorie Livingston said, "We are looking forward to this continued partnership with Coach Haith, Coach Pingeton and MU Athletics"

Boys and Girls Club of the Columbia’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens of our community.

The Boys & Girls Club is the only After School Youth Development Agency in Columbia that is open from 3pm-8pm, Monday-Friday, serving a nutritional meal with milk and providing nationally accredited programs that focus on: Character/Leadership Development, Education/Technology & Career Development, Health/Life Skills, Arts/Music, and Sports/Fitness.
