If you have lived in or visited Columbia anytime in the last 20 years, there's a good chance you might have eaten at a little spot called the Broadway Diner off Broadway Avenue.
They're famous for a dish called 'The Stretch', which is hash browns, scrambled eggs, chili, cheese, and onion and pepper if you want it, and Eunice McCaleb has been serving it for the last 20 years.
She's another addition to the Broadway Diner's hall of fame, mainly because of her great sense of humor, conversational wit, and warm-hearted smile.
She started as a waitress, and now works the register, but, she says that one particular thing has kept here there for so long...
"The people. Students, basically. You learn all their names, and you learn a lot from them," said McCaleb.
Although she became the favorite of the after-bar crowd back in the day, she now works days, but her patrons still love see her at the register.
She's 73 years-old and she says she plans to continue working until they make her stop.
