Jefferson City officials are offering a cash reward for anyone who can help lead them to arrest a burglar.

Friday evening, the Cole County Sheriff’s Office named Chad Hill, 26, as their suspect in a burglary that happened earlier in the day in the 2200 block of Saddlebrooke Lake Road.

The resident told deputies he was home when burglars forced their way into his house. When he confronted them, they left in a white SUV. Officers with Cole County and the Highway Patrol spotted it on South Drive near South Country Club and took it to the sheriff’s office.

Already knowing who owned the vehicle, deputies showed the victim a photo line-up of potential burglary suspects. The victim positively identified the owner of the vehicle, who broke into his house, as Chad Hill.

Anyone with information on Hill’s whereabouts is urged to called the Jefferson City Area Crime Stoppers at (573) 659-TIPS (8477) or you can also click here.

There is a $250 reward for information leading to his arrest.
