Police are searching for the two male robbers

COLUMBIA, MO. -- Two men kicked open the back door of a residence at 1403 Avatar Court on Tuesday night. Officers were dispatched at 11:36 p.m., while the robbery was in progress.

A 25-year-old woman was asleep in her bed when the two men grabbed her and threw her to the ground. One of the men then hit the woman in the face.

The robbers took the woman's purse and ran from the residence.

Just after midnight, officers were called to a grass fire at Edenten Boulevard and Bodie Drive because the 25-year-old's purse was found.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:
1) Black male, light complexion, 6'00" with a muscular build. Carried a handgun
2) Male, 5'08" to 5'10", average build
