A Columbia man will spend 20 years in prison for child sex crimes.

Robert Prince III was sentenced yesterday in Boone County Court to 15 years for a child molestation charge and five years for endangering the welfare of a child.

His request for a new trial was denied.

Last summer, an 11-year-old girl said Prince tried to initiate sex with her and showed her nude photographs, according to police.

Prince also faces an October jury trial on child pornography charges stemming from several videos found on his cell phone.

Prince will get time-served credit from his past year in the Boone County Jail.
