Reports drug use violation statics in Cole County and Jefferson City

You may remember the series of "Hope" campaigns launched throughout Jefferson City this year, which focused on educating the public about heroin use and ways to stop it.

Now one of the people behind that campaign is teaming up directly with law enforcement to offer what they are calling The Marshall Report.

On Thursday morning, the first official report was issued, offering statistics about drug use violations – including those with alcohol – in Jefferson City and Cole County.

Jim Marshall, whose son died last year from an overdose, says by monitoring the drug violations, they can target the drug dealers.

"I've had several young people tell me that they checked into rehab because their sources were drying out and they couldn't find what they were addicted to," he said. "I felt like that is immense on progress from those types of statements."

They plan to release a new Marshall Report every quarter to track the drug situation.
