Boone County and Columbia firefighters responded to a house fire about 3:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon at 6480 South Gateway Drive.

When crews arrived on the scene just off Route K, they found a home engulfed with flames and smoke pouring from the roof.

Two people were home when the fire started.

The homeowners immediately called 911.

No one was hurt including a pet dog.

It took firefighters about 45 minutes to get the flames under control.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire and the amount of damage.
