It's funded by the Non-Motorized Transportation Grant at a cost of $792,000.

Columbia, Mo. - The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced today that Lehman Construction Company of California, Mo., has been issued a notice to proceed with construction of the Greenbriar Trail. The notice to proceed is effective beginning August 13, 2012. Lehman Construction plans to mobilize equipment on the site on August 13th, with construction to begin within 10 days of that date weather permitting.

This project is funded by the Non-Motorized Transportation Grant at a cost of $792,000.  The new trail will provide a connection between Greenbriar Drive and the MU recreation trail, and trail improvements from Old Route K to Mick Deaver Memorial Drive.

Trail users should expect some temporary trail closures in the area and should exercise extreme caution when entering a work zone. The work should be completed in late fall of 2012 weather permitting.
