A man is behind bars after a stand-off in Boone County yesterday.

Deputies say a 911-caller told them she had been assaulted.

It happened in the 11-thousand-block of Old Highway 63 North.

Authorities say 53 year-old Chester Brown cut the woman with a knife and fired a firearm at her twice but didn't hit her.

Brown refused to come out of his house, but after some time, a member of a crisis negotiation team was able to speak with him.

Brown eventually came out of the house and was taken to the Boone County jail for assault, domestic violence and armed criminal action.
