OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Area residents are invited to attend an informational forum on dock safety scheduled 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, in Lake Regional Hospital’s third floor conference rooms.

The session will be presented by Sergeant Randy Henry, Missouri State Water Patrol; Fire Marshall Ed Nicholson, Osage Beach Fire Protection District; and Trauma Nurse Coordinator Marcia Whitter, Lake Regional Health System. Topics will include electrical safety and precautions, first aid for electrical and water-related injuries, and water safety.

“Dock safety is commonly overlooked,” Whitter said. “Just as homeowners change the batteries in their smoke alarms every six months to ensure safety, dock maintenance should be done regularly to stay safe in the water.”

The forum is free, but registration is required. Visit lakeregional.com/events to register. For more information, call 573-348-8222.

Lake Regional offers a variety of educational programming topics during the year, such as diabetes, heart disease and childhood obesity. Several health fairs and screenings also are held annually throughout the lake area. For information on upcoming events, visit lakeregional.com/events.
