Update 9.05. a.m.:
In a press release, Jefferson City police stated that the shots were reported Tuesday morning around 2:00 a.m.
Their initial call was at the 1400 block of Elizabeth Street, but they thereafter received information lead to the 1000 block of the street, where they found four pistol shell casings.
At the 1400 block, they found a trail of blood that eventually lead them to 27-year-old male stabbing victim, who told police mutiple stories of how he was stabbed.
They say that he and the other residents in the area were uncooperative with police.
Authorities still have no information on the cirmcumstances surrounding the stabbing or the empty bullet casings.

There's not much being released right now, but police responded to a shots fired call early Tuesday morning.
It happened at the 1400 block of Elizabeth Street in Jefferson City.
Police were sweeping the street with flashlights when KRCG arrived.
One officer told KRCG-13 that when they responded to the call, they found some blood in the streets.
They later found a man who was bleeding from minor stab wounds, but they said that neither he nor other neighbors would talk to them.
He was later taken to the local hospital. Police are currently still investigating incident.
